Use Me

It is five days till Christmas! Historians don’t really know the exact date Jesus was born but for the purpose of this post let’s say it really was December 25th.

If so around this time about 2,000 years ago the teenager virgin, Mary, was very pregnant. She was ready to have this holy baby inside her. She must have been nervous; childbirth must have been scary for her. Mary carried baby Jesus inside her for nine months and she was anxious to see the face of her baby. He would be the Savior of the world!

If Mary was anything like most young girls she was probably worried that she was going to mess something up! God chose her to hold his most precious gift to man, his son Jesus Christ. Can you imagine the pressure of that?!

God doesn’t make mistakes; he knew that Mary was the right person for the job that needed to be done. One of my biggest problems is me, my own insecurities! Most people are their own enemies! I second guess God; I say things like ‘Oh no you must have the wrong girl! I couldn’t possibly do that!’

As if God needed my plans! Proverbs 16:9 “In his heart a man plans his course but the Lord determines his steps.”

Mary was obedient, she didn’t have to believe in herself, she only had to believe in God. To know that he would use her to do marvelous things.

My brothers and sisters in Christ, God can use ANYONE for his purpose. He used Noah, who was a drunk, to keep the human race (and two of every animal) alive. He used Saul (who killed Christians) to write many books in the New Testament and spread Christianity!

If you’re like me, when God wants to use you, it’s scary and you might think you can’t do it or that someone else would be better. Remember Mary, Noah, and Saul. God uses people in extraordinary ways! Not only extraordinary people. Let him use you!
