What is Luminosity??

Luminosity focuses mainly on our theme verse, 1st Timothy 4:12 “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and purity.”  I know God can use people at a very young age to do amazing things for him!

For examples check out my character studies. They focus particularly young people, from the bible. God works in insane ways! I know that this is the generation of saggy pants and living in the moment, but I know we are called for so much more! These moments will pass (and I hope that the saggy pants trend as well, will pass, while I’m alive! Its one of my biggest pet peeves!) but God remains the same he was yesterday, today and tomorrow.

I hope this is a blog you can look to for encouragement. People always say ‘Be different!’ ‘Don’t follow the crowd!’ ‘If all your friends jumped off a cliff would you?’ We’ve all heard these quotes, probably more than once. The problem I was faced with was, they don’t say how to de distinct, walk the other way, and avoid the cliff. Well, Luminosity is here to change that, I will show you exactly  how to be distinct, walk the other way, and avoid the cliff.

Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying you have to dye your hair green to be distinct! Or push people out-of-the-way so you can continue on your path that’s going the opposite direction. I‘m also not saying you can’t ever go hiking again because you might fall off a cliff!

No! What I am saying is, people should be able to tell you’re a Christian, by how you conduct yourself. I am saying if you follow all your friends, why should they think Christianity is any different from what they’re doing? I am also saying, if you follow the world, to fit in, you will fall off the cliff!

A non-believer I talked to once said “I will become a Christian later, right now I am not worried about religion. I want to have fun!”

Apart from the fact that the fake fun won’t last, they were wrong about something else as well. Being a Christian isn’t a religion,  but a relationship! God’s purpose for us is most definitely not to make us miserable! Rather to give us the most life has to offer. I am excited to go through my categories and hopefully give followers of Christ encouragement and non-believers an interest to learn more!
